What We Believe

What We Believe

The Bible

2 Timothy 3:16-17 -(ESV) “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness. That the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”

Since God’s inspired word makes us complete, and equips us for every good work, we do not need any other creeds or books.

Hebrews 4:12 – (ESV) “For the Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

Jesus

Philippians 2:5-11- (ESV) “Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the son of the living God, came to Earth in the form of a man, and died on the cross for our sins.

Sin

Romans 6:23-(ESV) “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Scripture tells us that sin entered the world in the Garden of Eden. From there, man was separated from God by sin.

Isaiah 59:2 (ESV)- “But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear.”

Romans 5:12- (ESV) “Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned—”

God Wants You

God desires a relationship with you and has given all for you.

Romans 5:6-8-(ESV) “For at just the right time, while we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God proves His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

2 Peter 3:9-(ESV) “The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

Obedience

A relationship with God can only be achieved through obedient faithfulness. Once you realize you are living in sin, the only way back to the Father is through obedience to scripture.

Romans 10:17-(ESV) “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

Mark 16:16-(ESV) “Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.”

Luke 13:3-(ESV) “No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.”

1 John 1:9-(ESV) “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Acts 2:38-(ESV) “And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”

Heavenly Reward

Heaven is the promised reward for those who live faithfully.

Hebrews 11:16- (ESV)”But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared for them a city.”

1 Corinthians 2:9- (ESV) “But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”

1 Peter 1:3-5-(ESV) “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”
